TRE® (Tension & Trauma Release Exercise), created by David Berceli, Ph.D., is a gentle exercise to facilitate our bodies to release tension and restore the balance.
After learning more about the body-mind interaction in sensorimotor psychotherapy, I was looking for learning more body-based self-regulation strategies. My personal journey of practicing TRE started after the yoga teacher RYT 200 training in 2016. In Yin Yoga, we learned about the importance of relaxing the fascia tissues. Then, I came across TRE, an exercise that could activate our body’s healing trembling to relax the fascia tissues. In 2017, I received the training to become a TRE facilitator.
